RIDES
PADDY
Paddy is a 16.1hh bay gelding. Lucky for us, he was too slow as
a cart racer in his previous life and has made amazing transition
to become one of our steadfast trekkers.
He is a solid, reliable horse who is absolutely dependable and
trustworthy and has now taken numerous riders on our memorable treks.

WHINNY
Meet “Whinny” our Gisborne Stationbred mare. A beautiful dappled gray in color, she is 11 years old and 149cm. Before she joined our small herd of horses, she was used on a farm on steep hill country on the south island, in Gisborne, and at Lake Tutira. She is used to farm equipment, dogs, and livestock, and takes a complete beginner with absolutely no experience.
Whinny loves the feeling of not wearing a bit in her mouth, and has learned “pressure and release techniques” very quickly. The reason why is because it is the non-verbal language of horses and is called “Equus".

JAZZ
Jazz is another Stationbred mare that would do anything and go anywhere for her rider. Very light off the leg, she is our most sensitive mare in the herd. She has a very friendly nature, although she’s quite shy. Standing at 15.1 hh, Jazz is bay in color, and she comes off a high-country station, where she used to muster cattle, and sheep.

TIARE
The name I have selected for this beautiful mare is the generic Māori term for flower, but this flower is the only flower called “maori, which means indigenous in the Māori language of the Cook Islands. She is a very affectionate, alert, 15.2hh mare that listens well to the rider. She is very light off the legs and has a very compliant nature. A gorgeous bay, and very solidly built. She was mustered off a big station in Gisbourne and has what is termed “Stationbred “in her bloodline, bred for their hearty constitution, levelheaded attitude, and excellent trainability.
